As a company, we are incredibly focused on delivering our business minded services to create strong and exciting leisure, adventure and recreation projects. Regardless of the scope of work or the extent of our involvement in the development, our goal is the ultimate implementation and successful operation of each and every project we are involved with.

Project definition is the critical first stage of a new project. During this stage our team works out the business model, feasibility of the idea, develops components, creates conceptual design and identifies funding requirements. Once a project is defined, we conduct all detailed design work in-house ready to go to site. Our development team then manages the construction of the projects whilst our operations team monitor the project all the way through to ensure it will be operationally efficient and gear it up for opening with pre-opening management, website and business development and operations management.

We are able to develop individual phases of a project if the entire process is not required. We quite often find ourselves consulting for projects by providing advice on how to structure businesses, explaining what components to include, helping put financial models together, evaluating operations to help improve the bottom line and providing recommendations for future expansions.

We ensure that all of our departments input their expert knowledge into each phase of a project to ensure a smooth and successful integration between all of the development phases.

Finding Opportunity in Designing for the Future

At Select Contracts we believe that the fundamental human need for leisure is always evolving. For this reason, mountain resort offerings must evolve as well. More and more we see ski resorts struggling with visitation due to ageing demographics and diminished conditions due to climate change and now coupled with the global pandemic. Many resorts around the world have closed their doors while others scramble to find ways to attract new guests. Yet we have seen an increase in year-round resort operations at once winter-only resorts in an effort to diversify and become more resilient in the current climate.

Four-season resorts, whether an existing ski resort, adapted to meet changing market …

Surf Parks: Are They Better Than the Ocean?

With the Tokyo Summer Olympics postponed until 2021, athletes around the world are gearing up for another year of training and preparation. You may have heard there are several new disciplines being welcomed to the Olympics next year; along with sport climbing, skateboarding, and freestyle BMX, surfing has been one of the most anticipated additions to the world-class event.

Unlike gymnastics, swimming, or velodrome, surfers haven’t had the advantage of venue-style training facilities where the environment is constant – until recently. The dream of creating perfect, endless waves is now a reality with surf park developments gaining momentum worldwide.
